About Me

Me and Mum

From October 2011 to April 2017, my life revolved around one extraordinary woman – my mother. Her health battles were as fierce as her spirit, grappling with congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, transient ischemic attacks (TIA), kidney failure, and dementia from strokes. I became her caregiver, creating a haven of love, patience, and compassion within our home.

The routine was far from glamorous; it was a gritty yet tender dance with the complexities of health issues. Every day was about ensuring her safety and well-being, navigating the challenges with a blend of resilience and humour. As the threads of time wove together, our home became a sanctuary, a place where love was a verb and patience a constant companion.

On April 21st, 2017, she took her last breath at the age of 92. In that moment, the weight of the experience settled, and I recognized the transformative power of genuine care. It wasn't just about managing ailments; it was about being there, providing solace, and treating each individual with the dignity they deserved.

Now, as I extend this journey to companion care, it's not a business venture fueled by sentimentality; it's a commitment forged in the crucible of personal experience. I bring the practical lessons learned from those six years into a service aimed at offering the same quality of care and understanding to others. This is more than a job; it's a tribute to my mother's legacy and a dedication to enriching the lives of those in their golden years with genuine, heartfelt companionship.
